Summer

Nanette Donney

Hot nights, hot days
brown bodies
some are burnt
zinc cream
picnics
sand in the sandwiches
dry hair, peeling noses
freckles everywhere
waves, people
big and small
lifeguards, saltwater
sandcastles
it's Summertime.
